Anyone here shoot cast out of a 7mm Mag?

I have come across a steal on a #1 Ruger in 7mmRem Mag. I dont like the caliber, but if I can buy it right, and get cast to shoot out of it, I would be a happy camper. All feedback appreciated.

Probably apples to oranges but I've had good luck with the 264 Win Mag - Same case just .284 vs .264

Buy 50 cases and load it to 280 levels and there is much in the continental US that would require a second shot. There are loads in Lyman #4 but I have never used them.

I have tried it using several bullet weights and have had NO success. Yes they do punch paper but tight groups are wishful thinking. I decided not to pursue the matter further so I just shoot J's out of the 7mmRem Mag.

My 7mm Mauser shoots cast very well as you can see from this 100yd target. I've just moved to powder coating and can get a 145gn boolit to 2700 without any leading.

When the kid was little, about 12 years old, she started shooting our local cast bullet silhouette matches with a Rem 700 in 7mm mag. It didn't take long before she was beating all the old timers including me. The big joke was the littlest shooter we had was using the biggest rifle out there. Anyway, the RCBS 145 loaded over about 13 grains of Green Dot made an easy shooting load that was sub MOA or better and would drop the 200m rams with no problem at all.

I loaded some 140 gr. Lyman's over 10 gr. of Red Dot in a Model 70 Win. for a friend of mine to try. When sighting in at 50 yds. I was quite impressed. From memory it was just over an inch. Will do further development for cast bullet silhouette this summer.
