Can a Rock Chucker easily load 300 Ultra Mag?

A friend wants to start reloading for his 300 Ultra Mag. Is there enough vertical space above the shell holder for the case and a 210 grain bullet when seating or will the tip of the bullet have to be inserted in the seating die and then lowered into the case mouth?

He only has one rifle and will likely be neck sizing only. If he does choose to full length size, does the Rock Chucker have enough leverage to perform the task?

I know a Redding UltraMag will handle the task handily but he'd like to minimize his expenditure as much as is reasonable.

Thanks in advance for your help!

RCBS says the RockChucker has an opening that is 4.25 inches tall and the standard case length for the 300RUM is 3.600 inches.

Not only do you have enough clearance, but the Rockchucker also has the power to size and load magnums.

Its the benchmark of the industry.

The 210 gr bullet is more than 0.65" long. But lifting the bullet into the die and then setting it on the case mouth is not difficult and will not add an appreciable amount of time unless your friend is loading very many of this hard kicking magnum. To load 20 - 100 rounds at a time will not be a hardship.

As you can see, no problem having enough power to full length size.

What he will want to do is carefully lube the cases before he resizes them, including inside the case mouth. A properly lubed rifle case will glide right in and the back out of the sizing die.

When I load 300 rum or 7 rum on my rock chucker I start the bullet (boat tail) into the case and angle bullet tip of the pair into the bottom of the seater die and slip the base of the case into the shell holder. After a few times it is almost second nature.
