so far I'm very happy with the mold. Drops at 310. / 201 grains.
I'm going to load these for hunting with my 30-06.
Going to start with 27 grains 4198 powder and work up to 30.
First time casting in 2 years

Seems like a good place to start. I use 4198 as a backup to 2400 in 8mm, .303, and 7.5 French, all in the ballpark of that weight relative to case capacity. I didn't work up loads too aggressively since it wasn't my primary choice, but generally speaking I saw slightly larger groups with the 4198, but all of them were absolutely serviceable, even with old rifles at 100 yards. I would bet you're gonna have nice accuracy with that weight in a more modern rifle.

I'll be shooting an old gamemaster. Hoping for respectable results out to 200 yards.
Been trying to upload pictures but I guess my phone don't agree with the website

Resize your pictures to a smaller file size. Would love to see pictures of the “old game master” .

I got the same mold a week ago. Bullets come out good. Mine right at 203 with check installed.
Mine drop .310 at the bands and .300 at the nose.
My alloy is 96/2/2 with a touch of arsenic. Oven heat treated to around 24 bhn.
Still haven’t had a chance to do any load dev yet. But I’m going to focus on 3031 but only because I’ve had 3 pounds of it literally doing nothing for 10 years. I need to burn it up.
Let us know how it goes.
Watching this- that may be my next mould( just for Krag). I love that old 760 carbine.

Nice old game master, I don’t see many with the checkered stocks. Mine of that vintage is in 300 Savage, but with the grooves foreend and plain stock. Bet that carbine roars with factory or ball! That 200 should be a good load, looking forward to more posts on the subject.

So far I'm loving this mold.
Checked and sized to 309. Seated to the band before the crimp groove. Lands are touching the bullet yet it seats in with no effort on the pump.

If you really want to put the kaabosh smackdown on a critter use a flat point if you can find one that shoots good. Most do . But I don't cast, just purchase and shoot. Yell at me all you want.
Never trade luck for skill.
I would want something with a flat nose to hunt with as well. Another option might be to cast some with soft points, there's a sticky about how to do it.
I've never tried that Lee 200 grain bullet, but have heard a lot of good things about it. Looks to be similar design to the 311299.
For hunting I push the similar 311299/314299 [cast of COWWs +2% tin then mixed 50/50 with lead and AC'd, sized .311, Hornady GC and lubed with javelina or 2500+] to 1950 - 2000 fps from several cartridges. After loading I HP the nose to 3/16" deep with the 1/8" Forster HP tool. makes for a very good killing bullet. Should do as well on the Lee bullet.

/\ What Larry said. Or you could run a file across the nose of your LEE boolitz to create a flat point / meplat.

This is “the” bullet that I use almost exclusively for my Winchester 88/308
Packs a punch!
So far this billet has dropped 1x cow moose, 3 wt deer. Zero bullet recovery.
I’ll attach the links for my posts on here ref the Lee 200gr boolits.
