Oh my did I mess up!!!

I dropped 80 pieces of 44 brass (Russian, special, magnum - mixed) into my tumbler on the way through the reloading room and hit the switch last night. Came home to this tonight.....218 Bee was already in there! Anyone have advice to get these apart? I wiggled and pliered the ones that would come. This is what's left!!

Keep wiggling them, but upside down so the media can fall out if it can as opposed to how it got in there in the first place.

By the way, these are what's left from 4 of us after 3 hours of wiggling! And in literally every position I could think of!
Just a thought, would an acid or base soften crushed walnut shells to the point where these would loosen?

I'd be afraid of any liquid swelling the walnut. I have always been able to get them apart. The inside of the cases are tapered so it is just a friction fit. Have you tried the kinetic bullet puller?. That'd do it.

Man I hate that, had some 41 mag-380s get married. Finally used pliers to ruin the 380 brass to get them apart. Maybe a little dish soap or oil to slick them up.

Kinetic bullet puller, put an ear plug in the bottom to soften the blow to the bee case

skeettx beat me to it. Put them in the tumbler minus media and let the vibration do it's thing.

A close fitting rod down the neck will give you a little more leverage when trying to wiggle them out. I'd try the dry tumbler first though.

Empty the vibrator tub...
turn it on...
hold the outside case upside down against the inside rim of the vibrator.

That generally will dislodge a few pins quickly from vibration and gravity pulling the pins down into the vibrator tub.
The more pins that dislodge, the looser the fit between the cases.

Be patient, it took some time to get them like this and it'll take a little time to undo this booboo too.

The tumbler got the polish medium in there. An empty tumbler will get (most of) them vibrated apart.

I like the 120 seconds time limit. Take out those separated and rerun.

Boil some water and fill a coffee mug. Dip just the 44 cases enough to get past the stuck case rim inside. Should heat the pistol cartridge up just enough to expand and let loose the inside case.

Don't think you are the only one to do that. I did it with .45 colt and .357 cases and no I didn't do it again.

I always tumble everything together and of course sometimes have this problem. But I learned a long time ago to just take the cover off my tumbler (Lyman Mag Tumbler) with walnut shells, plug it back in and sit next to it on a chair with the tumbler running sitting on the floor. I filter through the media with my fingers and take out several casings and hold them upside down next to the rim of the tumbler, and they vibrate apart, with the stuck in case falling back into the tumbler.

When heated holes expand. People tend to have a hard time visualizing this. Metal expands when heated because an increase in temperature is actually an increase in the vibration of the atoms that compose the metal, and this vibration forces the atoms slightly apart.

An easy visualization of how this effects holes is to take a dozen dimes and a dozen quarters. Make a circle with both. The quarters would represent the atoms when they are further apart due to being heated. The group of quarters will have a larger ID.
