I'd love to have an A2 and will happily snap one up for a price I can choke down.
Is there any CURRENTLY produced cast STEEL presses being made? The current Rockchuckers are cast iron aren't they? Haven't heard glowing reviews about those anyways. Seem most of us more dedicated reloaders and boolit casters prefer the older stuff. I sure do.

Casting, reloading, shooting, collecting, restoring, smithing, etc, I love it all but most importantly, God, Family, The United States Constitution and Freedom...

CH4D makes cast steel presses
I do not own a Rockchucker but it is cast iron and a great press
I have cast steel presses, but nothing wrong with cast iron short of swaging
Put a Big Max on ebay, cast iron, and an A2 cast steel, and see what happens
The Big Max is a great press, I love mine
I like my A2s, but would keep the Big Max if I had to choose
To each their own
Ozark, what's the model number for the farthest left press in your picture? I've used one for years and never really known much other than it was one of the early rcbs presses.
It has the bushing. its cast steel. I bought it from this old re-loader, I was contemplating doing some .224 bullet swaging. Its true what they say about the A-2's, The weight of just the handle can re-size a 45-70 brass just kidding.
I guess it could be fore sale. I paid the old guy a decent amount.
Big Jake, if you want to sell it please post it in swap & sell. Offers to buy here will get the thread deleted.

That's the 1951 version of what RCBS calls the pre A.
Same basic frame but rather odd linkage.

Thanks fellas, I've never seen another one exactly like it till now. I always wondered about it and I appreciate the information. It was my first real press after I snapped a lee c frame when I was a kid. It is still my main press for case forming, full length sizing and some swage work.
The NIB A2 with no bushing went for $492.99
So how much is an A2 worth, a lot
Used, about half of that.
Sounds like a little bit of auction fever
