I believe the model 92 is too short for the 444.

I don't see a .44Mag break action single shot so I'm guessing you mean the Rossi 92 chambered in .44Mag. That right?

If so yeah, the bolt in the 92 doesn't cycle anywhere near far enough to handle that length of cartridge.
Witty saying to be plagarized shortly.....

You would need an action that travels app 2.250 to be able to squeeze the .444 in the action!!!You can get the job done with a Winchester '94 action in .44mag

That New rolling block is made in 44 mag....that would be a good one to re-chamber to the .444!!! Ol Deuce

Rossi does make a single shot break action in 44 mag so no not the model 92.

There are still a fair few H&R Handi Rifles in 444 Marlin for sale. see them in GB still. Better rifle than the Rossi, even if they have stopped making them.

But otherwise, yes, it is feasible. Max SAAMI pressure for 44 Mag is 36,000 psi. Max SAAMI pressure for 444 Marlin is 42,000 psi, so, there's a consideration.

Based on my experience with Rossi, you're more likely to need them, and not much more likely to get them

Parts can still be found if you look around hard enough although I wish I'd have ordered several of everything before they went out of business
