Well now that I have a bunch of the bowls I'll try them until they wear out and go to the colander if/when they're gone.
love all the ideas that keep flowing from this site

Well......that looks like a little piece of brilliance. I'll give that a whirl(no pun intended) on my next PC session. For whatever reason, HF powders never work for me but Smoke's do. However picking them out and trying to tap the excess off of each one is a bit of a pain. If this works for me like you illustrate, that will speed things up a bunch.
FYI - when you get the colander and drill it out, you're going to have to sand inside and out as the plastic wants to leave an edge around the hole. I have not tried a metal one as the plastic one fits the bowl perfect.
Paper bowls!!! Awesome Team Termath!

My thoughts are to use a countersink on the holes if/when I drill out the plastic colander. that would remove the rough edge

Excellent presentation! My problem is I presently tumble coat 300+ bullets at a time and dump into a large flat bottom plastic dishpan, but I like your idea, maybe I can incorporate it into my works.
Tryed it worked well. Adding to my operating procedures
Thanks

Do any of you NOT stand your boolits up? I'm looking to expedite the whole process and standing the boolits up seems...tedious.

'Johnny's Reloading Bench', 'elvis ammo' and 'loads of bacon' all have a little spoof going about cooking on non-stick Al. foil, silicone mats of various sorts, hardware cloth and parchment paper. They use the 'dump and cook' method as they too don't want to stand them.
Which-ever method you choose you can dump them as soon as they come out of the oven in a tub of water to break them apart.

That's great for big fat boolits. Not nearly as much fun with 22 and 25 cal boolits where the pellet and boolit are about the same size. I've been using Elvis Ammo's "heat 'n shake 'n bake" technique and accepting a pretty light powder coat for these lil' critters.

Sorry I know this is an older thread but I can't seem to see the pictures. Does anyone else have a problem with seeing them? It says I need to update my photobucket account to allow third party hosting.
You can right click and open the image in a new tab. Photobucket just killed third party hosting, so this happens everywhere. There's nothing you can do about it. The post author could update their account but updating yours won't help.
I can't see the photos either, in fact I can no longer download an image from my computer, regardless of the file size. To my knowledge I have not changed any settings and can find no settings to correct the problem. Without pictures we are left with a thousand words and who wants that?
I use this. $8 bucks

Thank you for posting this. You answered many of my questions after running my first coating experiment last night.
i use 2 plastic coffee cans with lids. punch 3/8 holes in one of them. after swirly coating, place empty can over lid with holes. swirl and shake upside down, bb and excess powder goes into empty can.
they stack.
I stand them up, sifting the PC will get moisture in it. Noticed the asbb get smaller with use.
Whatever!
