    .323 Caliber Lube Grooves

Hi gang. I have never designed a mold before,is there a benefit to multiple smaller grooves over a single larger one. There are many of both designs in the catalogs so I would like personal experience info from those who tried both.If it matters is a.323 diameter gas checked, around 185 grains.
One who does nothing makes no mistakes.

I prefer one single groove about .080 long [measured from drive band to drive band] with sides that slope in at about 30*.
this gives you plenty of lube for even long rifle barrels, and enough wall strength to take the rifling without shearing the edges.
this would be a good one to start with.

It's a trade-off between bearing length (distance from the bottom of the base band to the top of the front band) and bearing surface (Measure the tops of the bands and add them together to find out how much surface contact you have with the bore). I like a few wide grooves more than a whole bunch of narrow grooves.
Warning: I know Judo. If you force me to prove it I'll shoot you.
