What's your " high velocity " with Bens Liquid Lube ?

A gent from the local range is looking for an different lube for his riffle loads. He's using a 40 year old lube his dad made before he died. Its the type you use in a lube sizer.

I told him about BLL and he asked if itl hold up to his 2500 fps loads and i told him i thought that was common claim on here.

He know its a tumble lube. Btw.

I don't shoot much high V but the guys that do will be along.

    It will work.

Assuming all other factors are correct of course.

This guy said his lube is grease mixed with bees wax and graphite.

He is concerned that hell have issues with others and he doesn't know how to recreate his dads stuff

bens red is Grease and beeswax.
    lithi-bee is grease and bees-wax.
glen fryxells lube is moly grease and beeswax.
35-40% grease and bees wax is grease and bees wax.

add some graphite and there ya go.

Provided proper boolit fit(of course), 3 light coats of BLL will stay with his rifle easily @ 2500 fps. and much faster if he has an accurate load for it.

As far as that goes, Ben's Red will do it too.

Never had any problems with Ben's Red up to about 22 to 23 hundred ft per second

Never chronographed it but, 7.62x51 with 41.0 gr W760 (full case), 155 gr Lee 312-155-2R in an 18 1/2" barrel. Hit in the same spot on target that my jacketed 165 gr load hits at 2530 FPS.
    A deplorable that votes!

Just did a string yesterday with an average velocity of 2505, 2 coats BLL and no leading. Plan on trying faster, just haven't had the time, energy and weather all come together at the opportune moment. LOL

I've shot the Lee 200 grain RNFP with a gas check out of a 30/06 at chronographed 2495 fps. Two coats of BLL, tried three coats, couldn't tell the difference, no leading so far!!! No complaints from me about BLL. Good luck to you and your friend.
I firmly believe that you should only get treated by how you act, not by who or what you are!!
