They don't make these barrels anymore you know. Costs have risen dramatically the last 3 years. Right after H&R closed its doors I bought 2 full guns for less than 500$. Nowdays on ebay almost any bare barrel is selling for 4-500$. Hunters...

You could also cover it with a new design, decal, or simply a round black spot.

Goose is not so bad, cooked wet and slow till the meat falls off the bone. Forget roasting it, tain't no tame critter with an inch of fat on its back to baste the meat with grease while cooking. Goose stew is not bad either cooked well. Of...

Brother Blackwater it is good to let others care. Part of that means sharing what is happening. I firmly believe that pain shared is divided, diminished, reduced. But joy shared is multiplied, expanded, increased. So feel free to share both...

He's right, shoot em in the head. Takes a LOT of leade if they are moving. Took me years to figure out I was swinging on the lead bird and dropping the 2nd, 3rd or 4th bird back.

GhostHawk replied to a thread Primer Prices... in Cast Boolits
I stopped into a local Mill's Fleet Farm hoping to find some .45 colt new brass. Which I did, winchester, same price as Midway but no shipping. I also bought an extra 1k of large pistol primers while I was there. 4.16 per hundred. But no...

GhostHawk replied to a thread .22 LR Available in Rimfire Area
Late 70's early 80's I noticed that my then favorite Rem .22lr in the clear yellow 100 round box were starting to gum up my mag's. I have not bought Remington ammo since. CCI, Winchester, Federal all seem mostly ok. Perhaps not quite what...

I have to admit this is something I would like to do next fall. And for the first time I may actually be able to afford it. Living in Fargo it would not be a big trip for me.

Not everyone wants to be visited. I've been around internet community's since 96. This is one of the best I have ever seen, or heard of. As such it really does not need someone coming in telling us we are doing it wrong does it? At least in...

GRRRRRR! I caught the shim shifting a bit that i put under the bbl. even though it was jammed tight in there. I guess from shooting vibrations, although that seems to be very light with these guns. Anyway, drove out the pump arm and bbl. band...

I used to hunt whitetails with a 6 1/2" bbl. 44 mag. using 250 gr. Keith style bullets @ 900 fps. Total broadside penetration was no problem. They bleed out quick from the big holes and don't go far...if at all. One tough old doe made it 50 yds....

I started out with a center punch but getting them all the same was tough. A needle nose pliers and hand pressure can work. But again, it is hard to get the exact same amount of flare on each case. Me I like the Lee tool, and use it...

For years it was either my Rem 870 Wingmaster 20 ga or my ruger 10/22 with a full sized Bushnell banner 3x9x40 scope. Deer rifle scope, no wimpy stuff. Knock 12 ga hulls at 75 yards every time, laying down flat not standing up. Now, I have a...

You never fool a goose twice the same way. They have eyes like hawks. I loved hunting them and had some great days. Limited out a couple of times. But it can be HARD. Before steel shot came along I loved dueces. Nice tight pattern and big...
