Hmm, Cull or Powdercoat and load?

Was breaking in the new Mihec 147gr 9mm mould I got. I ran the mold a bit fast trying to keep pace with the hollowpoint pins needing to be hot and at some point in time must have cut a sprue that was still solidifying and a little bit of lead smear build up happened around the base of one of the cavity molds. Caused some minor tearing on about 100-150 of these before the pot got empty and I noticed during an inspection while I waited on the new lead in the pot to melt:

Would you keep these or cull them? I'm generally not too picky; the amount of the base that is blemished is small, but it is right on the base. If it were 5-10 I wouldn't care and toss them but if I had to guess I'd say we're looking at over a hundred like this easy.

Yours kind of looks my 'normal' casts
I pc and shoot all of them with nary a problem.
course I'm shooting at cowboy targets which are on the large size

you can always try a few yourself before using the entire batch or dumping them back in the pot

Shoot em. You have a good solid driving band all the way around. Any little chips or blemish on the edge is no more than a bevel base design would give. Unless you are tournament shooting, load em up and

If that's a cull, most of what I cast is cråp.

I'm with everyone above. Shoot them. The ones I end up culling at the end of a casting session look far worse.
It's only hubris if I'm wrong.

Do what you want but I would put them back in the pot and try again. It is not that hard.
To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, the trouble with many shooting experts is not that they're ignorant; its just that they know so much that isn't so.
