    Andy's Slow Rust Blue

    Is
    Andy's Slow Rust Blue

still available? Best one I've used, and would rather buy some and have too much, than run out!
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!

He had a sale post with his last batch, and saying he won't be doing any more for a while. I should have grabbed a bottle even though I don't have anything that needs blueing.

I've tried those in the past. Andy's is the only one I get a real nice early S&W look.

Say "Thank You", it's the thought that counts!

Just joking! Have a good one, I tried.

I will say I did get a perfect rust brown on a couple of muzzle loaders using it, completely different from the instant "Plum Brown".

Laurel Mountain works well for browning, but I have never got the nice high shine blue like Andys.

Here's another one, but you likely already know about it. But then again, maybe not!

I have heard that Pilkington does a very good job. I will try it sometime when I need enough chemicals from there to justify the hazmat.
