    My patience paid off!

I finally had some mono and lino fall in my lap for $.25/lb!!! I sorted some and came up with a bucket of the stuff in the picture... from what I have heard the three-holed stuff is mono is this true? It is a lot harder than the lino as far as I can test caveman-style.

This should last you a long time.
I acquired 200lbs about 35 years ago and still have around 170lbs left.

Wow, that would take 1000lbs of pure and 20lbs of tin to make an almost perfect 94-3-3 mix

I had some of those and when melted into a big batch was running around 50% richer than Linotype. I would have to go out and look but something like 7-8% Sn and 17% Sb. I also do not have the recipe handy but with some plain or COWW lead and added solder/pewter one can crank out a whole lot of Lyman #2 with 50# of that stuff. And Lyman #2 cut 50/50 with plain is still darn good pistol ammo.

Nice find. Glad to see it won't become battery terminals or go to waste.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.
