I used to say, "The early bird gets the worm, and the second mouse gets the cheese." I'm going to have to change the saying to the THIRD mouse gets the cheese (peanut butter).

I learned by accident that a mouse can get inside an empty 2litre soda bottle...... but can't get back out.

Several years ago I won the most successful hunter out of 11 hunters in the mountains of Pa. I shot a nice 8pt. buck with my Dad's Ruger 06 and trapped 6 mice.......The others got 2 or 3 for a total hunt (of mice) for 11 or 12.....The camaraderie was what it was all about. Of course cleaning out camp of the pests was a must. afish4570

The dumb rat just layed there so I blasted him behind the head with the 40S&W 175 gr swc. He never stood achance. The boy had his pic taken with it. It was a BIG male rat too.

Well! I got home from work and emptied my trap, reset it and about the time I sat down I heard it go off. Another double!
That makes 7 in the last couple days. All the same size, about 3/4 grown. How big are mouse litters?
The little woman doesn't like mice! She's not happy. Maybe she needs a new pair of mouse gloves.
Pretty soon you'll have enough to make your wife a nice fur coat with. Imagine the elegance. If you leave the tails on you can hang sequins off of them just to add to the glamour.

Waksupi, there was a local fella got one with a .45. Sitting enjoying an evening toddy in front of a nice warm fire when the little bugger ran out on the hearth. Got 'im, took the back of the fireplace too. GW

14 so far since I moved into this place mid-April 2015. Thought I was being overrun. My younger sister told me in May she had already got 33 in Dodge City. I was put into my place.

Never more than one in a standard mouse trap. I did use live traps. Once I carried it into the yard the cats gathered for the grand opening. It was exciting. Got to be careful them little varmints don't run up your pants leg. That is REAL exciting with them cats after them.

    Best thread ever! Yes

The place I worked at a few years ago in a place north of Pakiland was over run with mice. The people who worked me insisted keeping food in their desk drawers. So it was a surprise to them that they had mice. They found a box of traps and were arguing what was the best bait to use for the little buggers. I told them you don't need no stinking bait. They bet me five bucks I could not catch a mouse without bait. Ha! Easy money. I told them mice are dumb. Put the trap at a choke point along a wall and the mouse will jump right into the trap.

Ten minutes later I was five bucks richer. Maybe that is a world record for the highest price paid for a mouse. Trapping as a kid finally paid off.

Where can I find stretcher boards for mice?

I used to have a semi-feral cat who was an excellent mouser. He'd rather eat a mouse than commercial cat food. He's moved on but another one comes around now and then, a small handful of food 2-3 times a week ensures that. Cat food is a lot more pleasant to handle than mouse traps.
