First kill with a home cast and first kill with my CVA Scout. I've killed with handloads before but not with cast. The boolit was the Lee 429-240 SWC, as cast, water quenched COWW over a moderate charge of 4227. The critter was a wild hog that weighed in at 150. At 25 yards the boolit penetrated the head, punched the heart and stopped under the hide behind the far shoulder. I'm pretty impressed with how the projectile stayed together. I didnt realize how hard this lead really is without getting brittle. I'l get some pics posted up soon. And I'll add that I'm really loving the CVA more now. I know my shot wasn't far but after walking around and going up and diwn a tree in a climber the Scout never felt like it was in the way.
