45 ACP into phone books NOE 452-230

I had a chance to shoot a couple rounds into wet phone books. I picked up a used 4 cavity hollow point mold from a member here and cast some boolits to a SAECO 5. Coated with HF red, I sized them to .454 but there isn't much sizing going on and could probably just seat them right out of the oven. The barrel in the Glock 30 looks lead free so far. Shooting 5.0 Titegroup and not sure about velocity.

The one in the middle got hit by another boolit and the left one went the farthest in the wet media.

Looks like it will do the trick! Powder coat is the only way to go with Glocks IMHO. The Mihec 452-200 performs well in my 30 with pc. No leading, and accurate for the pistol type.

Oh, BTW since you have one, I tried a 357 sig conversion barrel from lone wolf with a g 29 mag, and it works fine. They do not say you can do that, with those conversion barrels (made for the 29) but they work fine. Opens up a huge door of calibers you can fire in a 30. I think with the conversion barrels it is one of the most versatile glocks ever made, with the most combinations of caliber conversions. Accurate too.

we shoot alot of lead thru glocks
but this isnt one of those bullets

it lost a bit of weight when it met up with the plate
but the powder coat stayed on more or less

My G30 is stock but it does have a softer trigger compared to my G19. Picked it up used but I like the G30 too, I've read that its one of the better Glocks to try out.

That's a nice picture of the 38 spl. It reminds me of the slug gun deer I got on opening weekend this year. 12 ga. 1 ounce 2 3/4'' Remington smooth bore ammo. It was as flat as a pancake and stopped in the skin on the off side. High in the chest right behind the shoulder he dropped right there.

Considering use for a two legged bad guy stopper, one has to like a big boolit that gets bigger and keeps on moving.

Great looking HP on the right. I shoot lead exclusively through my Glock and none the worse for wear.
You can miss fast & you can miss a lot, but only hits count.

I thought I would try and load some better pictures and show the Remington Slugger brand slug from the deer too. Also, I was thinking the math wasn't right because when I "hit the books" with the NOE 452-230s I fired 4 shots. I dug through there again and found the last one.

Funny thing is I'm not used to recovering lead projectiles from game because they seem to always go through. So that is kinda neat I can melt that big slug into something useful again.

That 452-230 weighs 230 grains as cast with the deep hollow point pins. It also has a crimp grove, I bet it can make a good 45 Colt boolit using the other pins for flat point or shallow point too.

Heavy hollow points. They're like cling peaches, just plain good.
