    LEE push through sizer???

    I need a .516 seizer they don't make one, I have a .501 I have no use for can I hone it out .015?

    I'd get Buckshot to make you one. He'll do any size that Lee doesn't make. But if you want to do it.... they aren't made of super hard metal. They'll hone out pretty easy. Don't get too carried away with the heavy grit paper or you might even overrun 0.15"! Hit it some, measure it, hit it again, measure again, and then you'll know how fast you are progressing. Go very slow when you get close and remember that even the fine polishing job at the end will take just a little more out of it.
    Give it a whirl since you don't need that one anyway.

    I think the farthest I've ever taken one was 5 or 6 thousandths, but it sure didn't take long. I was surprised at how fast I had to stop the coarse sanding and start the fine honing/polishing and almost overran my desired size.

    To do it yourself, use a piece of steel rod close to the diameter of the sizer and wrap it carefully with sandpaper (for that much metal removal I'd start at 220 grit, then go finer as you get closer). Roll it like a rolling pin on some rough wood to evenly remove metal. I've treated many sizers this way, as Lee measurements are often a little shy with their sizers.

    You should have no problems honing out .015, I have a .243 sizer honed out to .265 for my 6.5 Swede.

    As previously suggested, keep a check on your progress so as not to overdo it.

    One thing to take into account with a honed out sizer is the diameter of the bottom punch, as it will now be undersized. Care will need to be taken when gas checking bullets, to position the punch in the middle of the bullet base otherwise the gas checks will not seat flush.

    Lee punches are normally .005 undersized.

    I like to use a plan old slotted patch holder to hold the emery paper. Same one used in the M-14 cleaning kit.Start rough and finish with 600-800 paper.
    I've opened them up from 287 to 305

    I believe you can custom order any size from lee. Just another option if you'd rather not deal with it.
