Report on the Elmer Keith Estate auction

I wrote a short post over on the S&W forum that I don't want to duplicate, but if any of you are interested, I'll link it here. I hope that's permitted. If not, I'll delete this post.

Well, they deleted my thread because it references an upcoming auction. Is that also a rule here? If not, I'll post it here.

I get an invalid link message, probably the reason. Most likely need to be member, and signed in too access it.

Also, there is a lengthy topic already underway for the past week or so on the subject.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!

No need to go over there. The way things are going in this country our 401k will be worth little or seized by the gov to pay bills. Im withdrawing all of my money and buying the entire Keith collection

The sad thing is most of these guns will never be fired again. I would really like to run a box or two of heavy .44 Specials through the No 5, or go elk hunting with the .338-74, but I know that will never happen.

I was surprised, but it didn't look like he used the number 5 much at all. Couldn't see a turn line and the front of the barrel had almost no wear.

I pretty sure I remember Elmer writing that revolver had been reblued a couple of times.
