Nothing to worry about, because for once, I have the proper tool at hand. Looking for a little heat?.......Any questions?

.50 BMG In any accurate rifle but preferably a Barrett. Would give me the final push to move west where it would be easier to find places to shoot long range. FB
After reading thru this thread, it is noticeable that much of the wishful thinking centers around cartridges that are no longer available. Could this be because they didn't sell well when available?
One of my weaknesses is that I seem to covet something when I can't get it anymore.

32-20,
shot one long ago out of some levergun(had like a 24in barrel on it) most pleasureable rifle to shoot, low noise, amazingly accurate, no recoil, just plain fun, the guy who had it died and the gun disappeared(go figure)
9mmx39, the Russian version of the blackout, just thought it would be neat/fun to play with,

6.5 creedmore, something that shoots real flat with less recoil than the 300wm for getting way out there

I probably still have an "American Rifleman" with an article on shooting the Solothurn, somewhere around 1968. The author reported that the recoil, in a semiautomatic, was very powerful but seemed slow, pushing you back rather than hitting you. It was an extremely good 20mm. antitank rifle by the standards of 1936 or so, when the idea was probably conceived. The trouble was that by the time things really started happening, tanks had got extremely better. Not much, in the European war, depended on lighter armoured cars.
I used to know a Kuwaiti air force officer who, post-1990, had an anti-aircraft gun in his garden, and went around saying "Next time..." I don't know the make, but it would have been about 37 or 40mm. He said nobody else seemed to want it, and the bigger ones were too big to tow behind his car, so that would have been wrong.
