    Sizing for 300 BLK?

For those folks that shoot PC cast through their 300, what size expander do you use for what diameter.
I know the expander needs to be a little larger that so that you don't put too much squeeze on the CB, but was wondering how much for good retention.
I guess I could get the M die expander larger and turn it down.
    TIA

I use a 30 carbine powder drop expander in my lee 300 blackout powder drop die. I had to run a 3/8" drill bit in the die body, but it works great, and you can adjust the flare just like an M-die. No real need for a larger expander ball/ pin in your size die.
Edit: This is what it is. 3$ part...https://fsreloading.com/lee-precisio...m1-se2291.html

Thanks, but I'm more worried about the case neck below the flare. I read somewhere that it was a problem having a tight fit had a tendency to reduce the size of the CB.
I have the standard M die for 30 cal, just wondering about going larger to expand the length of the neck.

Borg why don't you pull one of your loaded rounds and see if the bullet has been reduced in size?
Another remady is to make a harder bullet.

I use the 30 m die short. Couple washers between the stem and expander and it works great.

I have used both the .30 carbine and the Lee universal expander ... Both work well.

I really didn't want to pull any boolits,, too Purdy. LOL
I have both the long body and the short body M die, I also have the 30 carbine expander.
I was just wondering if anyone had problems with the boolit being sized down when seating in a very tight case.

Only way to tell is to pull a couple before you crimp! Size bout a thous. above bore, expand bout a thous. under boolit size. BO bores are all over the place.
    Whatever!

So you are saying that if my bore is .308 and my cast boolits are sized .309, that I need to have an expander at .308.
All my expanders measure .306, so your talking .003 difference which is why I asked the question to make sure it's not to tight.

The 30 carbine expander opens the neck a little as well as flare the case neck.

Mine shoots well sized 3085, the Lee expander was 306 so I took it to 305 - 306 appeared to be too loose. I measure with a HF digital cal., not the best but it works. It's a custom barrel so I assume 308 but it's 1:10. The stock 1:7 would shoot 311 (307 expander) fine. Neither would take brass over 333 on the neck.
    Whatever!
