I aquired a 1957 vintage 760 ,30-06, 16.125 inch barrel including muzzle break ! Needless to say, I ain't shooting that thing much, LOUD!!!!!! even with 10gr reddot loads.
So, I have wanted a 35 cal for long time, and I like pump guns. This one is D&T already so it will get a Lyman Alaskan 2.5 to go with a 1in14 20 inch green Mountain barrel in .35 bore. Question is 358Win or 35 Rem,, I have 35Rem dies and 60 rounds of brass. I formed a 35 Rem from a 308 yesterday, not too bad. Longer neck on the 358, but I am going to get a NOE 200RCBS clone and call it good. Whitetails and tin cans will be the game of choice but I think it could handle pigs just fine. Any difference in accuracy, powder consumption ect, for that bullet at 1700 to 2000 fps? Any difference for plinking loads with pistol boolits?? Really , any difference at all???
Also , any thoughts on the 30-06 bolt face and the 35Rem rim dia?
GoodSteel, do you chamber both calibers?? Ever done a 760??
Help me decide fore I go crazy
Gotta go watch football, be checking back tomorrow!
