Be sure to check the mold, especially inside. If you got blood in the cavities it may rust, and not cast a good bullet in the future.
    Did the sock get damaged?
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!

Reminds me of a night when I had left my Hitachi impact screwgun on the dining room table. Walked through the room barefoot knocked the screwgun off table and it fell, Phillips head driver right through the foot man that hurt. Lucky the bit stayed in the socket (locking) when I pulled it out.

That's not even being funny, it is the truth...
As I was visiting my friend in the hospital after his motorcycle crash,
He was talking about how the bike was fine because he had put sliders on it,
and about how he managed to get his helmet off before the EMTs got there and could cut the strap.
about how he had his buddy ride it home so that it wouldn't get torn up by being drug onto the rollback.
No concern at all about the pins, plates, and screws in his leg, geeze

I was in garge getting screw driver for wife and had left mold leaning up on my pot and I bumped it.

Funny as i fell all i thought of was it would hit the cement floor on the edge and mess it up.

yeah good thing my foot broke its fall.

Now on I will set mold down on wood bench flat.

There's no sense making up stories about it, we know you were fondling and in your excitement it just slipped through your fingers.

Yep, it comes from my own experience!

Same thing out in the woods hunting, if I fall, I will cradle and protect my rifle, even if it means I am going to bust up my arms and elbows, hands, etc.

"I took a good fall out hunting today, busted my elbow and got a pretty good cut on head, but my rifle and scope were alright, so I kept on hunting!"

Then my wife goes off, "What is wrong with you men, you are going to get yourself put in the hospital, but YOUR GUN IS ALRIGHT!"

I just tell her, "It's a guy thing, you just don't get it"

Two feet and one mold. It's a no brainer.

    I agree.

By the way, what boolit does the mold drop? (Just so I, um I mean the prospective rescuer, know what caliber new gun to buy).

Just kidding, I remember catching a fully assembled M2-HB with my foot once.

Blood will rust metal very quickly.
My son's Grade VII shop teacher gave the class a quick talk on accidents with the table saw.
    1) shut the saw off
    2) make sure the blade has stopped,
    3) unplug the saw
    4) wipe the blood from the blade and wash the blade with hot soapy water. - blood rusts the teeth and ruins the edge.
    5) look for fingers in the sawdust on the floor
    6) place fingers in tray of ice water and call for an ambulance. - keeping the detached fingers cold may help them heal if reattached...
Go now and pour yourself a hot one...

Simple economics. We have an idea of what you paid for a saeco 4 cavity mold and you got your feet for free. I think of it as a cost effective solution to an immediate problem.

I can feel your pain literally! I was moveing a new star luber this summer when I dropped it. Instead of letting it hit the pavement, I put my leg out to cushion the fall and it hit my shin. The 1 1/2 inch gash it took out of me bled for over an hour an left a nice scar.
