Mod the Ohaus 7200 to use the uniflow drop tubes

What is the tap/thread size for the drop tube? I figure I would try to tap the Ohaus 7200 so I could use the uniflow drop tubes. OR I have a drop tube from a 55 measure I could weld to the bottom of it.

Honestly, I don't know the answer to your question. But I could recommend yocall/contact RCBS customer service directly and speak with a technician about your Uniflow question. I'm sure you will be given the info you are seeking with one phone call.

    Hi,
Instead of welding on the measure and ruining it,IMO. You could just buy a benchrest kit for it from Sinclair!

My Uniflow drop tube measures .546 (35/64) X 18 tpi. A real oddball size. Finding a correct tap would be quite a challenge. You might get away trying a standard 9/16 (.562) X 18 tap. It might be a little loose, but a RCBS drop tube should thread in tight enough. It would be easier to verify the thread dimensions for your Ohaus, and have a machinist make a proper drop tube up for you.

    Email from RCBS says it's a 9/16 x 18.
    Thanks everyone

I once made an "adapter" to allow a Uniflow measure to sit in a Lee "through the expander die" so that the powder would drop directly into the neck expanded case. I unscrewed the plastic green drop tube and found that a 9/16x 18 bolt would thread into the (the place of the green drop tube). So I had a machinist friend bore the largest hole possible through the bolt with a taper in it (on the measure end). Of course the bolt head had to be rounded as well to fit into the Lee gizmo that would normally hold a Lee powder powder funnel. It worked. I was able to/can dispense powder directly from the RCBS measure into whichever case I want to charge. If you go this route just be sure that the bolt you work with is not too short...long enough to get the job done, but not excessively long either. LLS

I drilled and tapped the Ohaus 7200 measure, cut off the end flush. Now I can use the Uniflow drop tubes.
