    300 AAC Load data sought - 180gr.

Bought the following bullet for reduced loads in my 30-06

    http://www.westernbullet.com/rc3gr1.html

I'm thinking I can load some of these up for my AR-15 300BO. I have some Reloader 7 and A2400. This bullet is 180gr. Can someone get me a starting point where I can work up. Not interested in a subsonic load at this time.

    Phil

The latest Hornady load book should have the info you seek.

ETA: just went a looked up the loads they have listed for 180gr. Starting loads are 9.9gr of 2400 and 13.4gr of 1680 top end loads are 11.9 of 2400 and 19.3 of 1680. COAL they are loading is 2.21". These loads are all for hornady brand jacketed bullets. Hope that helps.

You may have magazine stack and feed issues with that one unless it's loaded deep. If you load them deep , drop you start load below published data. The decreased case capacity will raise pressures faster. Doable, but use caution.

Tons of new load data for 300 AAC is on RRonline.org now under the loading data section. I've been adding all the new powders and cartridges to bring the online version of RR up to date.

Thanks so much! Most of my books are a few years old. A new hornady manual is really a good idea. I'll check out the rronline site.

I'd try the Rx7 first. Worked well with my 168 (170 with GC, easy 1500 fps). Don't know if 2400 will make enough gas for the BO. It wouldn't in 308 AR.
    Whatever!

I agree, you'r trying to turn a 300BO into a .308. Stick with lighter projectiles.
