    Anyone seen this before?

    The young man at the scrapyard set this aside for me along with some SOWW. Couldn't find much googling it. Says 1\2 & 1\2 Federated.[ATTACH=CONFIG]110737

    Looks like a 50/50 lead tin solder bar . If he sold them to you at lead prices you got a great deal.

    Got it with 26 lbs of roof jacks today @ $.70/lb. Dang I hope your right, I could use some tin!

    Auto body solder used before bondo and still in classics.

    ^^^ and still used in motorcycle custom body work. Bondo does a poor job of holding up to vibrations of a motorcycle, not quite a lost art but not that many people or shops still doing it.

    You might ask a local scrap yard if they have an hand-held analyzer. If they do,they usually will scan the item and tell the composition.
