That very cool! Always loved the Byron Originals planes. I bought a set of Nick Ziroli plans for a giant scaled DC-3 almost 20 years ago but have never gotten around to building it. Maybe once "retirement" gets here...

Pretty neat. Coming from a family of naval aviators, I appreciate that, but boy, they
need a better pilot on that T-28.

If it was easy, anybody could do it.

I did notice that to make it work they had to line the controller up with the carrier, facing directly down the flight deck. I assume it was a control issue, and they needed to see the situation changing as it changed. I was not crazy about the pilot aiming the plane directly at himself during takeoff to make it work. I wouldn't have done it. He almost had to duck the plane as it took off.

Suspect they'd been better off launching a smaller scale aircraft. There are some really nifty 'micro' electrics that would be much easier to launch (shorter take-off run) and would come closer to fitting the scale of the carrier model. Our club range is still snowed in so I'll be at the annual E-Fest tomorrow - http://www.hobbico-efest.com/index.html - watching the 'hot rocks' and factory guys do their thing and drooling over the latest generation planes and hardware.

I thought about RC helos back in the late 1970's when I was in the Army flying Hueys. Very fragile & expensive. Fast forward to a few years ago, and the new generation of cheaper, easy to fly RC stuff. I now own 7 different Helos/Quads, and have give 3 as gifts to the (adult) sons.

That one chopper reminded me of one the Russian attack choppers. And, it zigged when it should have zagged. Really neat, fun video. Thanks!!!
