anyone else have a Benjamin Marauder

I have the model 2263, its the best air rifle I have ever had. Ive killed many squirrels, crows, and one groundhog with it. Have it fitted with a bushnell elite 3200 scope. Dont have email set up to post a pic

got one! its a great squirrel rifle...as long as it likes the pellets I'm using! I've taken squirrels at upwards of 50 yds, and closer than that, it's almost instant death. did try to take a raccoon that was sleeping in a tree, about 15 to 20 ft off the ground once. that didn't go over so well. I was glad I always carry a sidearm when I hunt. won't try that again!

I have both the Benjamin Marauder rifle and pistol. The pistol with shoulder stock is my favorite, because it is so compact and lightweight...just as accurate as rifle version also. Marauder are cool air rifles.

    22 caliber.

I have a .25 cal Marauder rifle and a .22 Marauder pistol, like 'em both. The rifle just would not group worth a darn with any pellet until I replaced the o-ring in the barrel band with one of larger cross section. That worked a charm and it's a tack driver now. The Marauders give good value for the dollar, I think.

I have three, a 20 cal, a .224 and a 25 cal. First one is a regulated Field Target rifle, and the bigger ones are pest killers. The 25 cal tuned to shoot JSB pellets at about 48 FPE, and the .224 tuned to spit 225353 boolits at 80-85 FPE. The 25 cal has a 500cc bottle, and the .224 an 870cc, slung under the barrel on a short air tube with a custom adapter.
    cheers,

That's interesting... lots of questions to follow:

Do you have a pic of the .22 rifle with the 870cc bottle and did it come from the factory in that configuration? Was there additional cost for the 870cc bottle?

How many shots do you get from a fill when outputting 80-85 foot pounds with Lyman 225353?

What is your 225353 as-cast weight and can I assume you're casting them with a soft lead alloy? Looks like the cataloged weight in #2 alloy was 43 grains.

    Thanks,
    MJ

It's not about gun control, it's about people control. The progressives are using terrorists and the insane to further their agenda. If the socialist news media wasn't complicit, we could sit back and watch Fast & Furious and Benghazi-gate unfold.

hey M-J, they don't come stock with bottles.... I get 20 shots at 90 FPE with the 45 gr 353's. The valve is big enough for more mass and speed, but it is effectively turned back a bit, and is therefore a bit peakier and runs across a smaller pressure drop.

Cost retail for somebody to go and buy...that is difficult; the adapter was a 1-of custom...kits to run the 500cc bottle are $200 and need a rifle worth of donor parts, plus a $110 bottle and about as much to inlet the stock in an eye-pleasing fashion.

OK... thank you... so the rifle is a total custom job. How's the accuracy? Did you retain or replace the factory barrel?

I like the Benjamin Marauder myself. Mine is in 22 caliber and easily capable of sub minute of angle group at 50 yards. After tinkering a bit with the adjustable trigger to get it down to about a pound and topping it all off with a 25 power optics, shooting thumbtack heads at 50 yards is not difficult. In my yard, I can back off to 77 yards. On a calm day, inch groups are very common when shot from prone position.

I've researched the Benjamin Marauder a lot and if I'd seen it before I spent the money on this QB78 Deluxe, it would be what I'd be what I'd have spent my money on. Probably bought a package from Pyramid Air. I really like the .25 caliber version the best for punch on critters.
