    Benchrest bags

Several times I have seen mention of economically priced leather bench bags, but I can't remember the company's name.
Does anyone know what I'm referring to?
    Thanks.

Are you looking for ones that go on a mechanical front rest or one that is used instead of a mechanical front rest?

I use bank bags with the zippers and fill with wheat
Put plastic bag in bank bag, fill with wheat, seal inner bag,
    zip up bank bag.

If you want to make your own you can of course do so, Old shot bags or just sew together pants legs or sleeves and fill.
The plastic bag is a good idea if you have something that isn't moisture proof like stone - rice, beans, poly beads (from old bean bag chairs), all make for light weight bag. I have a bag with buck wheat hulls that I have throw atop my ammo cans for quick and dirty front rest at the range. Of course if you want the ultimate front end DIY project use the scissors screwjack from a car and mount to a base - like this one

or with Two joined to single platform

Add some weight and ya got a lead sled

for field use without bipod on a gun I have something homemade similar to this

mine is just two big bags joined together, with a sling attached.

I went down to Petsmart and picked up 20# bag of lizard litter (crushed walnut) for a few bucks and filled my Bullsbag with it, not too heavy or too light and it also works in my tumbler.

I had a quick witty come back to your kitty joke, but the cat got my tongue.

I once had a guest try to clean his shoes in the pan by the back door. I guess he'd never been around cats.
Don't know who was more embarased.

I know this is an old thread but I just read it and this is just too funny. Surely your visitor was the more embarrassed. Great stuff.
