I had one of those right rhe walnut grips. I loved. What did you give for it?
$321 debated on the price but, it was too clean to pass up.

I would have taken it for that in a heartbeat. My last one got stolen. It was my favorite 22 pistol ever.
Field stripped it this morning, if it had been shot before Sunday it was not much. Even the bluing on the bolt is probably 98%.
The only issue is the magazine I don't believe is factory. There is no Ruger emblem on the chrome base plate, which if I am correct is one all Ruger magazines. Also it has a tab on both sides just forward the feed lips, would figure is to help further control the round. The magazine body has a couple of real ugly welds that holds it together. I also thought the magazine base plate on Ruger magazines were removable for cleaning. this one is crimped on.
Anyone know who the manufacturer might be on this magazine?

Been a while since I had a MkI but I think that is a factory mag. They are different than a MkII, though they are interchangeable as long as the loading button can be moved to the correct side. The tabs mark it as a MkI mag for me along with the silver base.
All I have been around are the Mark II mags, went to clean it and figured out I could not disassemble it. Was just looking at U-Tube and they were talking about welded mags on Mark Is.

That does not look like my Mark I mags. It may be after market. You will not be disappointed,I love mine.
Nice find, it looks just like mine which I have had since 1970. Your description and pic of the mag look just like mine also. I might add the trigger pull on it is equal to my S&W M-41, it came that way from the factory.
My ruger 22 mags come apart from the top. Push follower down to where thumb button lines up with the cut ut in the slot. Pull out the thumb button, slowly release tensin and everything will come out the top.
Hi Gary, $321.00, that is the best buy you will probably make the rest of your life!
The Mark I is a fantastic pistol that will shoot with the best of them, or better, mine really likes CCI flat points. Good luck finding them!
That does not mean that your's will like the same, You have to try as many brands as you can get a hold of. This is how one tunes a .22! It tells "you" what amo it likes. There is no other way.
Like the old saying goes if it is working dont try and fix it. Mags can be funny critters at times.
