Went to the salvage yard and ended up with 187LB of lead. battery terminal clamps-- lead ingots(ww)-- drain pipe-- and some misc. lead. Got it for 30 cents a pound.
That should go good with the ww I got from Devcon-one other day.
Now pick a cool day and smelt to ingots.

Man, that was a good haul of lead. I wish my local yard still sold to the public. Good find!!!!

Went to the scrap yard the other day and they wanted 75 cents a lb for WW. They buy it for only 30 cents a lb. They are still there. They were boxing up lead pipe to send out. He marked the box 5116 #. Wow what a haul that would have been!!

sometimes alittle conversation will work wonders, that and let them know you are useing it to make river line weights. Which I am going to use some for that. Once inm a while I will take some alum cans and some scrap steel in and trade with them. Just sell the junk and then ask what he gets for lead, at that time you kind of trade/purchase some lead from them. Hey it works, you get your foot in the door anyway.

Illinois, doesn't even have lead we anymore. It's range lead or nothing around here, as far as I know.
