It was -3 when we left the house but it got up to single digits by noon. We all spend most of the day in the vehicle drinking coffee and just go out when a flag goes up. If I drink too much coffee one of the others drives home, yesterday the dog had to drive home takes a lot of antifreeze when it's that cold!

It is just a way to carry them and get them home, helps from freezing solid too.

I just like anything that is outdoors, I have places where I go for perch and walleye later in the winter.

Nice mess of fish! I hear ya about the 'anti-freeze'. A friend of mine is missing part of a finger due to too much anti-freeze. Got bored and decided we needed more holes. Fingertip got sliced off during his drunken hole-drilling exercise. His wife was NOT impressed when we got him back home. But we did catch more fish after the accident....maybe the blood in the water???

And when the Persian said their arrows would "block out the sun" The Spartans said "Then we will have our battle in the shade!"

Nice-sized trout for eating--big enough to avoid all the tiny bones, not so large as to be strong-tasting. Take comfort from knowing that temps aren't a whole lot warmer here in central CA currently.
I don't paint bullets. I like Black Rifle Coffee. Sacred cows are always fair game. California is to the United States what Syria is to Russia and North Korea is to China/South Korea/Japan--a Hermit Kingdom detached from the real world and led by delusional maniacs, an economic and social basket case sustained by "foreign" aid so as to not lose military bases.

I heard on the news that SanFran was 20* colder than Chicago. A guy from LHC, AZ told me it was cold there too, he had to wear socks with his sandals

Lamar; what's that lake right there at Soda Springs? I was through there 02-03 but it was damned near dry then, drove 1/4 mile down to the water and spent the night in front seat of the truck. Any fish in it??

Googled it up, Alexander Res. report looks dead.

There's one thing I will most likely never get to experience. Good amount of fish though. Congrats

Scott, When I worked in Soda, Carp were the only thing going in the res. Too shallow and a generating plant on one end made for warm water. I believe they have planted a sterile musky, [Tiger], have tried Walleye but that didn't take. Bow fishers took carp but the only boats I saw on it were racing.

Man, I aint even broke out the auger the last 2 years. When I wasnt busy doing something else, the ice was gone and vice versa.
We had a ball when we where going though. Too bad our little bit of ice is gone now. I do like smoked trout.

I like it smoked and pressure canned too. Some canned on a saltine with a dash of hot sauce and an ice cold beer does a body good
