    .41 colt Lyman mold

I saw what looks like a cherry brand new in box .41 long Colt mold today and another one just like it that has a little rust in it, but looks like someone could make it work. Both are single cavity molds.

Anyone have any interest in me going back to talk to the guy?

The stuff I bought from him so far has been package deals that I have made the offer on. I'm not even sure what I should offer him. I see similar type molds on eBay for $40 to $50 plus shipping, but obviously not this bullet.

If one is a hollow base I would like it. I already have the heel base design.

I really don't think it was a hollow base. If memory serves me correctly they were both normal looking bottom pour molds.

Lyman only made three moulds for the .41 Colt - #386176, #386177, and #386178. The hollowbase was #386178...the other two were heelbase bullets for the Short and Long, respectively. If the price is right, I could use a #386176 to round out my collection.

Sounds like I might have to go back over and talk to the guy Tuesday. What price range might be right so I know what to offer for the two molds? Is a little rust on the large side face of one mold going to cause a problem to clean up? Maybe I could rub on that rust spot with a pencil eraser and see if there is an pitting. He even had a round ball mold that looked about 50 cal.
