in 40 S&W. Used my Para P-16. Mech Tech had to make a special feed ramp that fit in my pistol so that it would feed the Mech Tech barrel. Had the mag extensions. Was an accurate and fun carbine. Twenty rounds of hot 40 cal was able to take several hogs and numerous other varmints... Sold it about 6 years ago. Sure miss it. It made a great little humming sound in its stock when I shot it.

+1 on the humming sound. Similar to the sound of fireing an AR, but there's no spring in the buttstock.
I've had mine for more than ten years, and am impressed with its accuracy. Mine also shoots cast well. In 45ACP, BTW.

I looked at them. They seem expensive for a rifle that isn't a rifle unless I break down a pistol...
Price of a 22 rf conversion for 1911.I had AMT reciever so I bought one.
It's still on my bucket list of guns to acquire. I have always like the concept of pistol caliber carbines.
I had one in 10mm back in the late 90's but I sold it for reasons I can't quite remember. It was a heavy little dude as I recall, but it shot OK.
I sorta wish I still had it. I bought it on eBay for not a whole lot…certainly much less than they are selling for today.

I believe that day is soon here Trey45!
I have a SA 1911 and I'm tempted. But by the time you add stock, and furniture the price starts creeping up there.
I bought a 40 version for a glock. Kind of had the dilemma of well now its either a pistol or a rifle. Lucked into a good deal on another glock, sold the top end off one so now has a dedicated lower for the mechtech. I just bought the basic one, did some mods so a uzi folding stock will go on it. Red dot on top. Accurate and reliable.
Some of their engineering is a bit questionable. I wanted to put a rail on the bottom, but its pretty hard to mount one they way they made it, be more screws to take out to field strip it. And you need the rubber snubber to keep the lower in place. The rail they sell sort of has to have rails on 4 sides to work. And the screws in the side could have been done better. Not a fan of the big gap in the back of the receiver.
I have the 45ACP Glock version. An absolute BLAST to shoot very accurate and surprisingly quiet.
Shot plenty of my cast boolits, matter of fact it will digest just about anything you feed it.
mine will shoot groups the diameter of a coffee cup at 50 yds.

Man, those look really cool!
Tempting, very very tempting.
Seems like the design is evolving and looking better over the last few years.
In 2012, I posted that a Mech-Tech carbine was on my bucket list! Fast-forward to present day and I am now the proud owner of A Mech-Tech G-17 with a collapsible aftermarket stock!
I have to say it's a hella good shooter that loves 124's and never jams! You just put the red-dot on the steel and pull the trigger!!! Clang!!
