Last year I made a deal with my oral surgeon All his old dental foil which was actually a decent amount probably 15-20 lb. he said it was 3-4 yrs worth. I dont think it was a fair trade though He took some of my teeth and my money Atleast i got something useful out of him !
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!
My dentist gives me a baggie like that about every 6 wks. and since his office is just around the corner I can pick it up when I walk the dog!

* My own dentist, about 30 -40 lbs per year ... no more
* Daughter is a dental hygienist. Used to make the rounds of the surrounding hygienist friends - 80 to 100 lbs a year. Now down to 30 or 40

He is an old school small town dentist but a good one, doesn't even have an assistant.
Just went today, was there about 3 weeks ago,
they already had 10 more lbs. for me
(weighed when I got home).
Then the tech. showed me the bucket, still 1/3 full.
Just didn't have any more boxes to put 'em in.
They need a bucket to throw 'em into.
I told her I'll bring an empty bucket and trade.
Didn't realize they use so many foils.
edit 3-30:
Traded buckets today, there was 28 lbs packed in the bottom of the bucket.
Must have had it for a while.
That makes 8 + 10 + 28 = 46 lbs in a month!
It's clean (except for possible germs), not gonna smelt it,
will just store it in a bucket 'til it's time to cast.
edit 4-4:
OK, I found a slip near the bottom of the bucket dated '97,
so I guess that's about the end of this joy ride.
If I get a few pounds once in a while it will still be good.
