    What is the purpose for STP oil treatment in smoe of the lube recipes you all have used

    The theory is to help seal the bore and plug any barrel imperfections. It may also help with softening some lubes.

    Don't use STP in my boolit lube but I have used it as case sizing lube for over 40 years.

    And it's pretty dang slick, so it is a lube also.
