Is this a good deal on ebay? Pacific kit

Found a new old stock Pacific reloading kit nib on ebay not sure all the particulars but it has a c press, scale, powder measure. It is only on a buy it now option for 95 plus 15 shipping. I kind of like the vintage style of set. What do you guys think?

    See the link below.

"Buy-it-now" is probably close to the original MSRP...circa 1980-1985!!

If it is complete, then "yes", it's a good deal.

Each of those items goes for $35+ used, so if these items are unused and you are reloading pistol and small rifle calibers, then it is worth it.

Being that old is anyone concerned about the Die thread size? I've only been loading for 3ish years so I don't know when the standard Die thread came around.

The press is okay but not great, it has the old 'single toggle' type lever system takes takes alot of arm press to work and stresses the bench top pretty severely.

    The measure is probably fine.

The scale will be accurate and sensitive but I wouldn't want to fool with it; it has NO dampening so the beam's swinging will go on forever!

Looks good to me. I have an old Redding scale which is oil dampened. I also have a magnetic dampened scale. I have gone back to using the Redding scale as I fell it is more accurate. But then again, I am cheap as well as mean and set in my ways.

The press is aluminum, good for light duty only. The scale uses seperate weights, ok but a pain to setup. The powder measure is by Tecto, again ok but not the best design.

As for die sizes, Pacific invented the 7/8-14 dies in 1930.

This is a decent set for a collector though the box is very rough. Leave it for a collector, (not me either).

If you're looking for an inexpensive way to get into reloading the Lee Anniversary kit has everything you absolutely have to have for less than the buy it now price of that ebay special.

Dont need the whole kit I just like vintage stuff, it was all nib and I didnt know too much about that age setup, I mostly see the older pacific gear. Just want to add another little single stage for some things.

Best beam balances have NO dampening.
You watch the arc and when it is the same on both sides, you have the correct weight.
In the labs, you kept the beam off the balance body and then you lowered it slowly and calibrated and weighed.
Never so happy as when I found all digital balances in all the labs I worked in.
