A bit cool and breezy, even here in Georgia today. I did some casting on my screen porch and will do more in the next few days.
First up - about 200 boolits for my .44 Russian S&W revolver
Next - about 75 boolits for my .43 Egyptian rolling block.
Getting real cold and windy here. Ohio isn't quite like Siberia, but I cast 800 Makarov and about 60 for the Mosin 7.62 X 54R

158 260 grain .452 boolits for my 45 acp and Herc 2400 testing
Nope, but did run 500 rounds of .45 ACPs (RCBS 45-230-RNs) off the Dillon SDB. Plan to cast a batch of Lee 312-155s and 329-205s later in the week, though.

I took advantage of the nice weather we had this weekend to break in a couple of new molds (Christmas presents), the Lee 1oz slug and a 311299, and replenish my supply of Lee 358-158-RF. I cast:
75 of the slugs with 50/50 SOWW and range lead
100 311299 with my version of Lyman #2. They dropped at .311 and 199gr (+/- .5gr)
300 of the 158gr RF (a great little boolit by the way)
Yep, it was a good weekend.
Happy New Year to all!

It's -27 here right now,with the wind chill it's -37
Needless to say I didn't cast a thing.
But I did paper patch 225 308's to be used in my new to me Ross Rifle
1180 boolits from 8 molds yesterday. First chance I've had to cast in 2 months....Had 6 new molds to try out.
It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.

17 pounds of the big one & 74 pounds of the little ones. Not today but yesterday.
That's a good day's worth of casting.
I cast these up last summer.
NOE 330GC,HP. I wanted to make sure I didn't run out this winter.
well, after being away from casting for over 20 years, I finally got enough stuff to cast a few hundred this week. Bought a couple of moulds, furnace, flux and a sizer. Been getting a lot of good information on this forum, trying to remember stuff I forgot and learn lots of new things. Feels good to be back in front of a hot pot again.
Those are nice Zuke. My hat's off to the HP/HB bunch.
Welcome to the board pistolshooter & welcome back to doing your own boolits.
HI,
Yea, it finally snowed, so a could do BOOM BOOM'S slush quench.
20lbs of 265 gr gc. RD 44 cal. boolits. Oh Yeah!
Three hundred ninety five Lee 358-158-RF out of the six cavity mold in about 30 minutes. (once I got the casts going in a good rhythm)
First casts with this mold. Thought I got a lemon because the bootlits were an absolute bear to get out of the mold. I had to push each one out by hand until I figured out that I wasn't letting the sprue plate cool off enough and the bases were slightly "welded" to the top of the mold. I wanted to cut the sprue just a couple of seconds after the lead "froze" in order to make sure I got a clean, flat cut. Once I waited to a count of 10 rather than a count of 3 after "freezing", all six boolits dropped out with nothing more than a shake. The bases turned out all nice and flat after all. Tumble lubed them tonight, can't wait to shoot them real soon.
Casted about 250 85 gr. .312 rn for my .32 H&R. Took me forever with that two ganger.

Casted around 250 150 gr. 358 SWC with a Latchmiller two cavity mold. Also got a 5 gallon bucket of wheelweights smelted.

I have just received my new NOE 5 cavity 316299 and have started to run it in. I thought I had cleaned it enough but the boolits were wrinkled - back in the pot they go.
I'll have another go today. I'll probably put the temperature up a tad as well.
