    Loading cast in 338 Lapua

I am attempting to bell the 338 Lapua case a little to load cast bullets. I am looking into the 33R m die from Lyman, I have the 30r versions for 30-06 and the 30-30.
What does everybody think of the Lee universal. Is it big enough for the big body 338 case?

I have the Lee die and 338lm case. The case does not fit inside the die but you can still bell with the die.
With both expanders in the appropriate expander is just short of the end of the die. The case mouth fits in
    Far enough to bell.

Stick some needle nose pliers in the case mouth and give it a twist.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!

If you're just looking for a little bit of flare at the top, the Lee might work. If you're looking to seat a fatter bullet and not swage it down, look at the NOE expander.
