I've been working a ton of hours lately! This is our peak season, and I was only able to hunt a couple days this year here in Pa. Today I watched 7 or 8 does for about an hour trying to pick out the biggest one. Finally I got a clean shot at what I thought was a good sized deer. I squeezed the trigger and the next thing I saw was the deer on the ground with it's legs in the air! The rest of the deer were just standing there like they were waiting for their companion to get back up. They ran away as I approached the downed deer. I immediately noticed it was a small doe, but I was thankful for the opportunity to get a clean shot with such limited time to hunt. It should be great eating...
I center punched it right behind the shoulders at 65 yards with a Lyman 311041 doing about 2100 fps. Alloy was water drop hardened 50/50 mix of wheelweights and lead at 14 Bhn. Bang-flop! Complete pass through. My first deer with this bullet, hopefully not the last!
