This morning finally opened the box on the Coleman picked up at a charity resale shop for $9.99.
The original price tag says MEMCO so it was from what, '83 or before?
Bought an adapter on line for a five gallon hook up.

Good buy, but I'd keep that new one for cooking on when the power is out, and find an old one to melt lead on.
You know, I'd kinda been having those thoughts myself.
Would much rather have a turkey fryer type burner for lead.
If we weren't getting so dadgum old I'd really be thinking picnics and such.
In school: We learn lessons, and are given tests.
In life: We are given tests, and learn lessons.
OK People. Enough of this idle chit-chat.
This ain't your Grandma's sewing circle.
EVERYONE!
Back to your oars. The Captain wants to waterski.
If you are going to melt lead You are definitely NOT! so old that you can't go to the park and do a Sunday Cookout! Not a whole lot of effort goes into buying some steaks and packing the car and driving to the park. You can handle it.
I have smelted lead on a Single Burner Coleman Stove and on a Coleman Backpackers Stove and even on a WWII Coleman Army Stove .
They all work if you've got the time, and don't have that much to do. If you are talking 100's of pounds of lead then a $30 Turkey Fryer is the hot ticket and there is always resale value to think of. Just keep the Aluminum Pot clean so it can be used for food.
