    winchester ae 307

gun came from a good friend unfired.I no longer hunt antthing but coyotes so if I keep it I would only load it lite.Searching for reloading info for the 307 is kind of limited to fairly hot loads. Is there any chance to load something in the area of 1200 fps or slightly more?I have no interest in the regular factory spect loads.

Search around this site for 308Winchester loads in the range you seek. Case capacitys are effectively the same, pressure at that velocity level is no issue. Note, I am referring to the requested 1200fps plinker, NOT factory levelNice Rifle, great friend! I have a slightly older version, top eject BB94 but mine is 375win.

    Here's a starting point.
What molds do you have, powders?

311410 up would be a good varmit bullet in that velocity range, 311008 even better, or the Harris designed x39 bullet, mine casts 168gr but gas checked.

Read some and follow the links from those those threads, may help to refine what you want. I believe there are several 307 shooters on here, they will chime in. Memory tells me the 307 was Winchester wanting to put the 308 into their beefed up 94. It's a rim or Simi rimmed 308 with a slight pressure reduction. Some have even been able to use actual 308 brass in their 307win rifles. That last piece is pure hearsay, I have never tried it. Just wanted to give you some thought starting links, enjoy your rifle!
Red dot and any number of pistol powders as well as trail boss with many different bullets will do what you state, I will post a link to a commercial bullet that might be a starter

If you wanted to reload and use jacketed bullets the speer 110 grain JHP loaded to 1200 fps would really be a great round for yotes with a lot of "pop" with contact. I load them to 1000fps in the blackout.

The speer 110 is the M1 carbine hollowpoint with wide nose/cavity. Should be plenty safe in a tube magazine.

307 and 308 internal case capacity? One maybe should look into this a little before pushing into that one. I contacted Hornady by email several years ago in regard to the 307 and was kindly and quickly sent several loads with powder charge ranges. One may want to research some 30-32 caliber loads with some fast powders and lead which would easily meet your stated goal.
