Looks like the lead was very hot when cast. I like them like that.
That is crystalline structure in the alloy.
I concur...it looks like really hot alloy. As long as they are filled out...shoot 'em up.

The only stupid question...is the unasked one.
Not all who wander....are lost.
"Common Sense" is like a flower. It doesn't grow in everyone's garden.

If more government is the answer, then it was a really stupid question. - Ronald Reagan
Whew, that’s good news. Thanks guys! Now to get that PID hooked up...
buy your lead from our sponsors and you know what your getting, buy from the bay and its anybodies guess.
if you are ever being chased by a taxidermist, don't play dead
Those bullets look like they dropped from a LEE 452 - 255 RF mold.
They are really well filled out, so I would say keep casting them the way your doing it, those bullets are great and good to lube and shoot. A little frosting just makes them festive Christmas bullets.
I like a little frosting on mine too. I get my best fillout just at the point of frosting. Too much though, and you will lose definition of the edges. 'Looks like you got these just right.
KE4GWE - - - - - - Colt 1860, it just feels right.
