Pm sent.
I firmly believe that you should only get treated by how you act, not by who or what you are!!
You can get a new Hornady Powder Trickler for $13.49 Amazon prime. just $6 more than you're going to pay for shipping on a trade not counting the value of what you are going to trade
You can make a pretty nice one from hardware store and hobby store pieces parts and some hand work also. A drill press helps a lot for this project.
Bill of materials.
2 ea 3/4" - 1 1/2" copper adapters.
1 piece 3/4" copper tubing 1 1/4" long
1 piece 4" long 1/4" of brass tubing
1 compression spring 3"-4" long of a dia to fit snuggly into 1/4" tubing this provides the "threads" to move powder.
enough lead to fill the bottom adapter and to the top of the tube.
Solder the3/4"x 1 1/4" tube into one of the adapters.
Set this upside down on a steel plate and fill to base with lead, this provides the "bottom" in the tube and weight to make it stable
solder the second adapter to the tube. this is the hopper for the powder.
drill a 1/4" hole thru on center and square to the body. but allow the tube to turn freely this.
2 rings cut from the 1/4" tubing 1/4" long and split make the stops. for the tube.
Drill a 1/4" hole down to the above hole and blend with a 3/4" countersink
Drill 2 1/8" -3/16" holes thru the side of the brass tube to alighn with the above hole
cut the tight wrapped ends from the spring and twist into the tube past the holes
Plug the back end of the tube with a dowel or bolt glued in. A allen head cap screw makes a nice end with the straight serrations on it.
Clean this up and lightly polish it removing excess solder. MAybe run it for a few hours in your case polisher to polish it up nice or paint it.
A thin rubber pad can be glued on the bottom to aid stability and grip. For a soft knob a piece of 1/4" ID X 3/8" of tygon tubing can be pushed over the end. A couple small rings can be used for the stop rings in place of the split brass rings also.
This makes a very nice trickler and you can adjust it to match your needs wants also. Some of the new digitals need a longer tube or taller base so take a little time measure out what you need.
I just built one, would take me all of five minutes to build another. Pm me your address and I'll see that George drops it by.
I used a 30-06 case before I bought one. Case about half full, tilt and rotate a bit and you can dribble powder quite controlably.
"In God we trust, in all others, check the manual!"
In a bind a Slushy or icy straw ( the ones with the little spoon on the end) actually work pretty good for small amounts of powder. I have used them before and some ear by them. Grab a couple at the 7-11 next time LOL.
Loading .38 special, I’ve been just tapping a Lee dipper. It works pretty well with rifle powder, but when I’m measuring out 5.6gr of pistol powder with shaky hands, well...it’s time consuming. I had a powder measure and trickler before I moved, but sold them to free up funds and space. So..now I’m trying to slowly reaquire items as I’m able.
I appreciate everybody’s willingnesss to help. Thanks to all!
