Load info for the LEE 312-155-2r PC GC with Lil Gun/W 296

So, I am just getting around to loading these up.

I'm using the Lee 312-155-2R, PC'ed with gas check, for this load I just sized it in the .311" push through sizer, averaging just a little under that.

Looking for a load, Lyman 50th, Hornady 9th and Lyman cast lead book have nothing for the powders I have on hand.

Looking to use Lil' Gun, or W-296. Memory serves Me right, I think more towards the Lil Gun load for the over 150gr weights.

    I found THIS.

From all of my reading it seems like a lot of people are around 15.0 to 16.0gr of Lil Gun, and about the same from W-296.

16" AR Stoner 1:7" SS 300 BO Carbine gas length.

LC brass, #41 primer, Load to .250" on the ogive at mag bump OAL, start at 13.5gr and work up to 15.0 to 15.5gr of Lil' Gun seem like a safe starting point?

    Thanks. Dave

My go-to load was 15.3gr of H110/W296 with this boolit, cycled perfectly in 2 carbine length gas uppers.

Thanks Moonie, have you ever tried Lil' Gun?

I see on the burn rate chart that Lil' Gun and H110/W296 are right there next to each other.

Maybe I just go with the H110/W296, read about a lot of people using it with this boolit.

Duke in fl. And I are using Lil Gun with our Swaged 150 grain Boolits in our ARs. No problem cycling. We are loading 15 grains. I just got a the same mold that you have and going to load 15 grains in it also.

How would that load work in a 7.62x39 for the Yugo SKS? I just scored a pound of 296 from a neighbor.

I used 15gr of imr4227 or 14.8 of 296 with that bullet and its good in my 16 inch 1:8 AR Stoner barrel carbine gas system.

Good to hear, I'm making up a Lil' Gun ladder to take with Me.

Going to compare the W296 vs Lil' Gun, see what happens.
