Nuke the site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure. Still like the caddyshack movie with bill murray when he used plastic explosive to get one critter. Frank
Knew a guy that dumped gas down the hole... he waited until just after a rain so it would not soak in and instead would spread as fumes... yeah it was not good when the fumes tracked back to the gas can he set downhill.
We used to plug all the holes we could find and then run a pipe from the tail-pipe on the truck into one hole we left open. idle the truck for a half hour or so. Not 100% effective but close.

The moles would need dynamite to dig a tunnel thru my yard!
Some people live and learn but I mostly just live
They are after grubb worms, if you kill there food they will leave. Grubex works well.
Neighbor had a push lawn mower with the muffler removed and pipe + flex pipe so he could roll the mower over, stick the flex pipe into the hole or tunnel to run the engine and gas wood chucks and moles. Used it mostly for wood chucks those buggers were murder on his out buildings. Had the support excavated out from under a barn floor.
Sort of a variation on the running the truck exhaust into the tunnels.
If you are retired put those underground line marking flags wires down into the tunnels. Sit in a chair waiting for the moles to make the flags twitch by pushing against the wire. Then apply pitchfork to tunnel on either side of flag. Some golf courses pay summer help to do exactly this job. It does work if you have the patience and the time.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.
Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

More fun to shoot gophers off my deck... had a bunch of friends over and 4 of us had 22 rifles... one would pop up we took turns shooting and kept score.
Grand father would open the mound a little pour a couple teaspoons of lye in and go on to next one. Seemed to work for him
OK - I just ordered a six pack. Thanks for posting this. I have a MAJOR problem with moles. They're wrecking the place. I've tried the traps with the spring loaded spikes and the traps keep getting set off - but no moles. Tried poison - no luck there either. I'm at my wits end with it.
So many guns, so little time

"Free cheese only comes in a mousetrap"
I bought some "spike" at Lowes. Take 3 D cell batteries. Push the spikes into the ground. They vibrate every so often & drive
The moles away.
Propane is heavier than air. Had an issue with a mole in my mom's garden. The ground was so soft that the mole would just tunnel around any traps and the mole bombs can't be used in gardens. Stuck a hose into the hole and ran about five pounds of propane into the hole. No more mole or moles.
In my area this was a common method to get rid of beavers.

I believe there is a type of pesticide smoke bomb that you place in the entrance to the hole and ignite it.
I also think that all outlets need to be closed.
Supposed to gas them to sleep..
Check with a pest exterminator for them..
Good Luck!
For years they said stick a burning hiway flare in the hole and it will gas them to death.
Forget it as I used up many flares and they were still there.
