I have a large jar of dill pickles, can the liquid in the pickle jar be used by just adding, eggs, sausage onion to it when the pickles are gone?
Or is it best to reuse the jar?

If you put the jar in the fridge after you add the goodies, you can re-use the pickle juice.
Otherwise, the acidity level is a factor, and you should start with a solution of known strength.
I personally choose to not re-use because I get better control of the flavors I want with a fresh charge.

Thanks Dale, I bought this large jar because it was so cheap at a local grocery outlet store, I'm not a fan of jumbo dill pickles but the 64 oz jar was $3.50 and I couldn't buy the empty jar new for that.

i make my pickled eggs just by putting them right in the dill pickle jar.
i make sweet onions/garlic by using sweet pickle juice and the left over onions from dinner etc.
the sweet onions are awesome in omlets and in potato salad.
