I have a 10 pound Lyman bottom pour pot and a 20 pound open top Saeco pot to melt ingots to keep the Lyman full.
I generally run two four cavity Lyman moulds at a time, dropping the bullets...

Is anyone making decent quality gang molds like the old Hensley & Gibbs 8 & 10 cavity molds of the past????
The 4 cavities that I'm using now are really becoming a PITA.
Thanx in advance.

Does anyone have any March 2010 updates, especially on "pulldown" bullets and .223-.308 suitable powders???
TIA
Also, has anyone here ever done business with an outfit called:
"River...

If you want a "cheap" medium quality scope, but still want something worth owning, get a Nikon 20-60X80MM.
It's certainly not in the same league with a Swarovski or Zeiss, but it's not bad.

I've had good luck with this bullet with IMR 4064, and H335, hornady gas checks and Tamarack 50/50 lube to 1800 fps.

One of the very best powders ever made for the .308.

Benchrest shooters shoot the most accurate groups. Most benchresters (all?) that I have known over the last 50 years swear by volumetric consistency, rather than weight. as some one said earlier,...

Charlie,
IIRC,
The old "collarbutton" bullet was used for very light loads for plinking, and in some cases by guards in prisons and stockades where overpenetration was a very legitimate...

I had one of these about 30 years ago. Swaged several hundred half-jacket bullets. shot half a dozen of them. Pulled the bullets on the rest and remelted the cores.
Worst leading I've ever had...

I agree! The "magic velocity" for most of my guns is around 1300 FPS. I GC all loads going faster.

Rick,
I would avoid the use of Red Dot powder for anything other than very light target loads in revolvers.
Stick to 2400, H110, 296, 4227, 1680, 4198 etc for your rifle loads.

Almost all of my rifle boolit moulds are gas check. I've had VERY good luck with GC designs in rifles over the last 40 years, so I've stuck with them.
I also use 'em in .454 Casull, .44 Magnum,...

For many years I used the NRA 50/50 formula. (usually Javelina) for everything. Not very satisfactory, IMHO. Billowing clouds of smoke when fired and sticky to the touch when reloading. A few years...

Yep! First choice: Redding. No question.
Second choice: RCBS, Lyman, Hornady, C-H
Last choice: Lee

I guess I'll go against the grain here. I've had bad experiences with Lee products. I don't like them at all.
I realize that many people would not be reloading if it were not for Lee, and the...

My bullet as well. For plinking, I use 8.0 of Unique. For an all around trail and carry load, I use 9.0. Both are excellent loads.

The cheap scopes will "see" a bullet hole at 100 yards. But not much farther. I've seen quite a few Swarovski and Ziess scopes on the range, and they were definitely NOT owned by anyone trying to...

I've used tons of steel cased ammo and it hasn't hurt any of my guns. I believe that the "reputation" of steel cased ammo being hard on guns is an old urban myth.

I have used this procedure in the past. But when you load 2500 to 3000 rounds in an evening, it becomes impossible to clean them all in this manner.

My Ruger .357 has been REBUILT by the folks at Ruger twice!
I have shot somewhere near 10,000 .357 loads, and the rest have been .38 special. I would conservatively estimate that about...
