1.150 inch rce jacket
Rce 8s point form
Rbt with open tip
Maximum weight with no lead pushing out the top is 175 grains for me. A 10s will be 167grains.

My best guess without pictures. I have Richard Corbin equipment.
L is Lead point die and punches
P is Point form die and punches
S is Swage die and punches to form a lead core
R
CB could be...

Nice work, I have zero machining experience so I am jealous.

I've seen utility grade soft copper tube and that is .250 OD and .020 wall thickness. You would need .160 lead and .170 core swage. All assuming you can find the small materials and tools. I make...

1964 is what i found for a year on plastic half jackets. I have a couple boxes of them.

The bottom one is a vickerman bullet seating die.

I only have the 4s and it looks right for the job. A 6s can do it too, you don't have to point it all the way, you can leave a larger meplat for heavy bullets. A 4s with a hollow point punch is cool...

My 1.150 inch jacket, 4s, makes a 250 soft point. A 6s would expose more lead. 1.25" jacket, 4s , soft point, 300 grains.

The Corbin derimmers that i use give consistent stretching of the 22LR. I tumble the crap out of the cases with pins to get as much primer residue out. More even results then.

Oxides are harder than bare metal. Keep the jackets clean. Citric acid and Simple green Lemon in a tumbler work for me. 1 teaspoon of each in a harbor freight tumbler is all you need after annealing.

Ive special ordered LEE bullet sizers for odd diameters. Hand polished if needed. I have one that is .300 that i put .308 bullets through, so no problem for you there.

You may be pushing too hard to make soft points. I used to do that. Leave a large enough opening for the lead to easily escape the jacket. If you push too hard to get the lead point and then eject on...

We are talking about a 1/2 of a thousandth of an inch. Variations in case capacity, primer make, powder lot numbers and especially seating depth will contribute more to pressure spikes than .0005 of...

A buddy and I just found out that 200 grain long round nose would not fit in a p-mag. They kind of fit in a standard mag. Now we are trying a 10s die but leaving an 1/8" meplat. We think this will...

I was talking finished jacket. My set uses .375 type L tubing that I draw to .336 then to .306.

I just checked a sample I had, here are the specifics. Tubing jacket .030 wall 1.2" long 6s ogive open tip with small cavity = 180grains. So I'm guessing 1.250 would get me to 200.

1.2" would be a good start. Of course there are all of the variables: ogive length and shape, jacket thickness, open tip, lead tip, how big the tip cavity is.

A lead bullet has to fit in the die. If it is severely undersized it will just have more wrinkles in it when finished.

I put them in a tee shirt, knead them for about a minute to rub off the lube.

You will have to experiment but seat the core first in the core seat die then start to form the base in the point form die (you have to determine how much to close. Eject projectile and turn around,...

A torch is fine that's how I do it. As soon as it starts turning orange I quit. I put 100 finish nails in a board and then put the 22lr jackets on the nails and move on down the line. 2 minutes...

I was missing stuff for their swage dies so I called them and they shipped the parts to me.

I swage hollow base hollow point 50 CAL muzzle loader bullets and pure lead handgun bullets for 38 special, 44 special and 45 auto.

You can get 120 grains from a 22Mag case drawn to .224 jacket but I don't have a gun that could shoot that. 90 grains are the heaviest I have made after trimming the jacket.

I swage .308 jackets to .329. When I get 338 dies I hope the 308 jackets can make that jump. I'm sure they will even if I have to anneal them.
