Suitable for smelting?

I got the 10 inch pot and single burner about a month ago. I have smelted nearly 1000 lbs of WW's since with no problems.

Now THAT sounds like a good recommendation.

By the way thanks for the lead on the single burner. When I did a search all I saw was the double and the triple burners.

This one doesn't say in the ad anywhere what the BTUs are for it. Guess I'll just take a chance. Oh well, the worse is I end up with a burner to take camping.

Would be nice to have more btus but it is not necesary. The single burner does the job just fine just at a slightly slower than a turket fryer or other high btu burners.

That's a Camp Dutch Oven with legs. It won't fit a burner grating very well.

I used a hack saw to cut the legs off. I bought the same set-up. Took me about 10 min to lopp them off.

also if you use a single burner, if it is not getting enough heat to the pot of if there is a wind blowing you can put a shield around it to help the heat concentrate on the pan (just dont block too much air or the burner will not work right)

Are you saying that the double burner would be better for smelting, or just be sure and have a wind guard, or perhaps best of all have a double burner and a wind guard?

I think a single burner (like a turkey roaster) with a wind shield would be the best because it will have a higher btu burner on it

Don't buy the Dutch Oven, just buy the covered roaster pot. BTW I tried the single burner from HF and decided that my turkey fryer had a bit more heat. Don''t get too large a pot because the rubber hose is very close to the burner unless you make an extension of black pipe or brass pipe.

As you saw at my place those weed burners have lot's of fire.
BUT, you've got to get the pot high enough it's out of the flame.
My pot is too close to the one under it. Takes too long with a low
fire.

Many have a problem keeping the torch far enough away to get the
most heat from it. Think you saw that, right?

Yes sir, you want the blue part of the flame, it's by far the hottest.
