    Scored a little lead today.

I bought 30 lbs of lead for $15 today from the local scrap yard..... All of it was very small crimp-on fishing weights. At least I wont have to skim any w/w clips off.

Sounds like a deal, most is still close to $1 a pound shipped . . .

I was able to get three five gallon buckets full of truck wheel weights at no charge from one of my vendors. Big weights make a lot of bullets. That should last me for a while.

"...All of it was very small crimp-on fishing weights. " which sounds like split shot, or... shot! If you shoot Cowboy, you might try them in your shotgun shells.

They're soft lead which is what I like. I alloy it with either w/w or lino to get the BHN that I use in the 30-30.

Yesterday I was surprised by a gift of lead from a utility repairman. He drove right down my driveway and knocked on the door. Seems that he remembered I asked him about lead when he replaced my gas meter a while back. What he gifted me was a 5 lb bag of lead seals that they take off of gas meters when they are replaced.

So there's another source for us lead scroungers!

    PS Spokane Washington is covered!
It's all chicken, even the beak!
